Every rating below comes from independent testing by UL and ASTM. The code numbers are in the spec table if your building department asks.
Hail: Class 4 impact. Class 4 is the top of the impact scale. In hail country, a Class 4 roof may qualify for a homeowner's insurance discount, so it's worth a call to your agent.
Wind: rated for 110 mph. The panels interlock and every screw sits under the course above, so there are no exposed screw heads on the roof. Here's how the interlock works.
Fire: Class A. WeatherLok carries a Class A fire rating. It's steel under stone, not wood shake.

WeatherLok installs over one or two layers of existing asphalt shingles. The old roof stays where it is, so there's no tear-off and no disposal fees for hauling it away.
The panels screw through the old shingles straight into the roof deck, then the next course covers the screws. It's steel, not concrete or clay tile, so it doesn't come with a conversation about reinforcing your roof.
